Simpson Glass Studio

Kirk maintains the 30-acre buildings and property – including fields, woods, lawns and gardens - as well as the studio and outbuildings. He also fixes everything that breaks and occasionally works in the cold shop, all while cheerfully singing aloud to his own internal playlist.

Casi keeps everything clean and organized - the studio and Josh’s gallery, Salmon Falls Gallery. She is also an essential hotshop helper, responsible for cutting and organizing cane and laying out Josh’s latest fused cane designs. On occasion you might also find her shucking corn or making scalloped potatoes.

Zak has been Josh’s hotshop assistant since 2020. He learned glassblowing 20 years ago at Snow Farm School, from instructor Ralph Mossman, who had previously been Josh’s hotshop assistant! Zak has also worked as a professional puppeteer and can be counted on to add a funny or dramatic angle to whatever is going on.

Cindi has been Josh's bookkeeper since 2018. She manages bills, payroll, real estate, and everything else Josh can throw at her. She is also the studio’s de facto HR manager: everyone tells Cindi what’s happening and how they’re feeling, because she’s a great listener!

Tucker has been Josh’s hotshop assistant since 2013 and has been working with glass and teaching glassblowing for over 25 years. He also learned to blow glass with Bob Dane, another of Josh’s assistants from the 1980’s! Tucker is the Zen master of pulling beautiful cane and forming perfect Planet spheres of every size.

Rebecca is Manager of Sales, Marketing & Social Media. She handles retail sales, customer care, special orders, corporate orders, gallery sales, museum exhibits, and all social outreach. Have a question about Josh's work and ideas, or need advice about purchasing glass? Becky to the rescue!

Sue is Manager of Special Projects. She produces most of the studio’s photography and written material, manages the online store, coordinates museum exhibits, co-authored Josh’s 50th retrospective book, occasionally helps in the hot shop, and generally keeps Josh on track (leading Josh to name her, “Battle Tested Warrior Queen”).

Marcella is our maestro of shipping, packing, and mailing. She makes sure the right glass gets to the right person, corporation, museum, or gallery, intact and as quickly as possible. Marcey pays attention to details others might miss and has saved our bacon more than a few times.

Diantha is Josh's previous bookkeeper of more than 30 years and still serves as his external memory drive. She now works part-time in the office, helping with whatever projects need her knowledge base, sleuthing out years-old invoice mysteries, and finding archival information no one else even imagines might exist. Diantha knows where the skeletons are hidden!
