Red New Mexico Josiah Megaplanet 5"
Made of copper ruby glass and reactive silver decoration, using traditional tools and ancient techniques, Red New Mexico planets evoke Southwestern deserts and perhaps (with a bit of imagination) a landscape on Mars. This 5" solid glass Planet contains tiny colored glass rods that resemble the Planet's cities, mountains, volcanoes or satellite launching areas, set against the rich red earth.
This approx. 5" sphere has a flattened, polished base serialized 3.1.21 and signed “Josiah Simpson," indicating that Josh has chosen it as one of his favorites.
Provenance: “Dark Matter: The Unseen Work of Josh Simpson” Salmon Falls Gallery, Shelburne Falls, MA, Nov-Dec 2022
