Artist Proof Planets are Inhabited Planets that Josh creates to test the linear coefficient of expansion of newly designed cane. He needs to make sure the new colored glass can safely be used inside each Planet's crystal clear "atmosphere." Those that survive the annealing process without cracking... success!
Like any "Artist's Proof," these works show the artist's thought process and development of ideas. Each Artist's Proof Planet comes with a small packet of the exact cane used inside the sphere.
This 3” Planet has a flat, polished base signed “Simpson” and serialized 5.61.24
