Vintage New Mexico Full Round Sphere
Over the years, for a variety of reasons (or sometimes for no reason at all), Josh occasionally makes large full round spheres. This orb is one such work, an extremely unusual blue New Mexico Planet, slightly less than 4” in diameter, that is completely spherical, with no flattened/polished base to prevent it from flying out of orbit.
Made in 2001, the work comes with a burl stand especially made for the larger than usual orb. It is signed Simpson and serialized 5.1.01. The last photo in the group shows the piece with a silver dollar for size reference.
