VINTAGE 2008 "Chaos Vase"
This unusual vase reveals Josh’s continuing exploration of the possibilities inherent in cane, especially in the long thin strands known (in Italian glassmaking) as latticino. This rare black and white piece is a precursor to later (and ongoing) “Spacetime” work, in which Josh’s expresses his ideas about gravitational forces and the warping of the universe. The vibrant cobalt interior, visible as a result of the generous open lip, adds an element of surprise and delight.
11” H x 5” Diameter
This vase’s polished base is inscribed with serial number 5.22.08 and signed (by Josh) “Simpson.”
